Circulation Policies
In Evergreen, Circulation Policies (also referred to as circulation rules) define how different materials circulate. The rules are primarily composed of: the checkout library, the type of patron (by Main (Profile) Permission Group), and the type of material (by Circulation Modifier), and set the loan period (Duration Rule), daily fine rate (Recurring Fine Rule), and maximum overdue fine amount (Max Fine Rule).
There are system wide rules (see table below) based on PLDA Recommendations that can be used by any library, and will apply to a circulation if the checkout library does not have its own local rule. If the system rules do not match your library’s circulation policies, contact the Help Desk to set up local rules.

- Circulation Modifiers marked with an (*) do not have explicit rules, and will use the Default rule.
- When Holdable = No is indicated, there are separate system wide Hold Policies that apply to the Circulation Modifiers
