Audiobook SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens 13+ that gives away two complete audiobook downloads a week – pairs of high interest titles, based on weekly themes. According to No Shelf Required, SYNC opened its 2017 season today and announced its list of titles, starting with Dawn Kurtagich’s The Dead House and Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Grey. Teens sign up for text or email alerts that let them know when new titles are available. They have 7 days to download the title through the OverDrive app – and then its theirs to keep.

SYNC provides patron support and a toolkit of promotional materials with eye-catching colors and graphics – bookmarks, flyers, and posters. You can print posters for the whole season, for each month, or each week. There are also web banners, social media links, and even audio clips for online promos. It’s a great way to introduce teens to eResources and increase OverDrive use (and statistics!). Does your teen summer reading program include summer listening? Tell us in the comments!
