WLS Road Trip 2026
September 13 – December 13, 2026 at 29 Participating Libraries and Branches
- Everyone can participate. People don’t have to be patrons of a library in Westchester. Staff can participate to earn CE credits.
- At each library a traveler visits, they check in, take a selfie, and post it to social media. They can complete a challenge if a library offers one.
- A sticker and an entry for a prize drawing is given to each traveler at each library they visit. A prize is given to each traveler who visits 5 libraries. Travelers who visit 10, 20, or all libraries receive additional entries.
- Staff who participate receive an entry for a prize drawing at every library that they visit. For every 5 libraries they visit, they will also receive 1 CE credit.
- Drawings for prizes will be awarded at the Road Trip wrap-up in January. Winners not attending will be contacted by email.
How It Works For Visitors
- Get Travel Log
On your first visit to a library, pick up a Travel Log or information about how to get to the WLS Road Trip digitally. Both have a map of the libraries and more! - Scan & Earn Prize Entries
At each library, scan a QR code located at the front desk to log your visit and earn entries for prize drawings. More visits = more entries!
Take a selfie outside or inside and share on social media. Add hashtags #WLSRoadTrip and one for the library you’re visiting. - Earn Rewards
When you log 5 library visits, you’re guaranteed to get a prize. Keep going for drawing entries at 10, 20 & 30 libraries — prizes will be awarded at the wrap-up!
How It Works For Staff
- Welcome them in and point them to the Road Trip sign. If it’s their first visit, help them get a Travel Log digitally or give them a Travel Log Pocket Map.
- Check their progress. You might ask “Did you get your Travel Log? How many libraries have you visited? Do you have a library card?”
- Show them your library’s selfie station. Encourage #WLSRoadTrip2026 and #YourLibrary posts and sharing on social!
- Give one sticker per participant to place in their Travel Log.
- Have them log their visit in the digital Travel Log or via the QR code (it goes to a Google Form) on the Road Trip poster.Help participants fill out the form if needed.

Materials
- The Pocket Map contains a map and an info block for each library. This is where a visitor’s sticker goes!
- The poster has information about how to get started with the digital travel log or the physical Pocket Map.
- There is a QR code to go to the digital travel log, register (only at the first visited library!), and log visits, and learn about challenges at libraries that have them. The digital log is the simplest way for visitors to check in, and complete challenges, We recommend it – and we encourage you to do that too!
- Two QR codes are for the public or staff using the Pocket Map; that’s where they check in at each library. These methods of logging mean that library staff doesn’t have to count or log visits. We have a limited number of Pocket Maps to distribute when those you’ve received run low. Just tell us how many you have left, and we’ll send more out as long as we have them.
- The 4th QR code goes to a WLS public page that will go live on September 13th.
- There are two posters for your library. We will send others, professionally printed, in the coming week.
- Prizes are for visitors when your library is the fifth one they’ve visited. Other than asking in a friendly way which other libraries they’ve visited or where else they’ve been, prizes may be given to anyone who says they’ve visited 5.
WLS is counting visits internally so we can add extra entries for drawings at the 10, 25 and all libraries visited.
