Know anyone with an older Kindle?
If you do, you may want to ask them if they’ve followed through on an email from Amazon about upgrading their device software. According to several ereader blogs like The Digital Reader, it’s important to connect to Wifi before March 22nd so your Kindle can automatically update to avoid having to manually update the firmware. Without the update, older Kindles won’t be able to download ebooks. In fact, The Digital Reader says, “if you get a notice, you should update your Kindle immediately. (Better yet, why wait?).”
You can find out what software updates are available for your Kindle here. Good luck and happy reading!
