Circulation Committee Meeting Minutes – May 2018
Minutes from Circulation Meeting
Thursday, May 10th 2018
The circ meeting scheduled for March was canceled due to inclement weather.
Library card prefix 21038 is a WLS Card. The FEE profile is for non-residents. That card fee is $75.00 per year and these cards are to be renewed with WLS not at the individual libraries. If the patron moves or gains a job within the county destroy the WLS card and give them your library card. There isn’t any need to notify WLS about the change of address or profile.
Another WLS profile is PIE…Public Innovation and Engagement… valid for 6 mos. This is for former inmates re-entering the workforce.

Searches can be dumped from item search and display (WF) into excel. Instructions are on the it-wiki… it.westchesterlibraries.org/circ/how-to/printing-search-results-to-excel/
Contract with Sirsi is up next April. The RFP was posted on the website May 4. Final proposals are due June 13, 2018. A decision is expected to be made by the Nov circ meeting.
Only reports that belong to your own library should be removed. The next time a batch of reports is removed, individual logins will be assigned. Any monthly stats or lost notices removed in the future will require the staff to run those same reports in Analytics.
Allison is on vacation but will be stepping up Analytics training in the Fall.
Not too many libraries have on-line applications. Discussion followed how the various libraries handled duplicate cards, multiple cards per family, verification.
For those libraries that want to circ the DVD/BluRay sets separately should link each disc to the proper bib not each disc separately on the same bib. The DVD/BluRay combo packs circulating as one should be linked to the bib that includes “(Blu-ray & DVD)” after the title.
After discussion, it was decided not to add the Call # field in the item search and display results in WF.
If staff suspend an available hold at another library in WF it will not appear on the clean holdshelf the next day. Please follow through by notifying the pickup library to remove the item from their holdshelf.
Please check items before trapping for holds to prevent items damaged or with missing parts being sent to fill a hold.
