You can read up on swimming, gymnastics, or your favorite sporting event, but you don’t have to run to the store for a copy. You can use your library card to access the digital edition through WLS and Flipster. Every article and photo is available, from news about the Russian doping scandal to the return of golf after 112 years – and it’s all free. As you read, though, ask yourself as I did, why does Time Magazine call it the “Summer Olympics”? After all, despite the 90 degree daytime temperatures, it’s only summer in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s winter in Rio.
