Blocks on a patron’s record

  • A system-generated block is automatically placed when a person owes bills of $25.00 or more
  • Manual blocks may be placed/removed “barring” a patron by any library. For example:Invalid Address(returned mail); Duplicate patron record found in the system
  • When a manual “barred” is placed on a patron’s record, detailed information must be entered in a Message Alert and should include the following:

1. Date placed

2. Library’s three-letter code

3. The Initials of the person placing the block

4. Details on the reason for the block

5. Remove the notes and the manual “barred” once the situation is rectified
