You can download eBooks directly on a Sony Reader WiFi.

For other models, download titles to your computer and use Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to transfer to your Reader.

Note: To directly download eBooks using your Sony Reader WiFi outside of the US or Canada, you will need to first authorize it using a computer. This is a one-time setup.

What you need

  • Adobe Digital Editions for Windows or Mac (needed for all models except the Reader WiFi)
  • A library card

How it works

Install Software

With a Sony Reader WiFi, no software installation is required. You can download eBooks directly on the device using the default browser.

If you have a model other than the Reader WiFi, install Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to transfer eBooks to your device. You will also need to authorize your computer and your Reader with an Adobe ID.

Note: If your Reader is not recognized by ADE, you may need to install the Sony Reader Software.

Borrow eBooks

Sony Reader WiFi: Search for your library’s digital collection website using the Public Library button or by going to search www.westchesterlibraries.org/listen-read.

When you find an eBook you like from your library’s digital collection, follow the on-screen prompts to borrow and download it to your device.

Other models: Browse to your library’s digital collection website from a computer, www.westchesterlibraries.org/listen-read. From there, borrow and download an EPUB or PDF eBook using your Windows or Mac computer. The eBook will open in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), where you can transfer it to your Sony Reader.

Enjoy

Once you have an eBook on your Sony Reader, you will find it with all of the other eBooks on your device.
